Public Relations/Communications
AnnieLaurie began her thru-hike on the communications trail in the late 90s—back when press releases were faxed and videos were shot on tape. With a BA in Broadcast Journalism, she hit the trail running in 1999 as a one-man-band tv news reporter in metro Atlanta. She quickly learned that she preferred being on the newsmaking side of the story and set out to trade hack for flack as a press secretary on Capitol Hill. The winds of change turned her compass north to Washington, DC where she served for nearly 10 years in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the United States Senate. It was two international mission trips to impoverished areas of Central America that compelled AnnieLaurie to enter the nonprofit arena, working for a global humanitarian organization before becoming the communications director a DC area megachurch.
“The hero in the brand story is the customer, not the company. The customer is always the hero who leverages the brand to save the day.”
AnnieLaurie is a 1999 graduate of Union University and has lived in Tennessee, Georgia, Virginia and the District of Columbia. She has traveled to ten countries and hopes to one day live internationally. But of all her adventures, the best one was meeting her husband and having their three beautiful children in under three years! In her free time you will find her cooking up something yummy in the kitchen, making playlists on Spotify or planning trips to Walt Disney World for her friends. They recently moved from metro-DC to Memphis, TN where Brian is a pastor at The Orchard Church.
